History
FinTAC was founded in Jyväskylä in November 8, 2001, with the purpose of acting as a national network for scientists interested in thermal analysis, calorimetry and pyrolysis as well as to promote the knowledge on thermal analysis. At the beginning, FinTAC was a division belonging closely to Finnish Chemical Society. FinTAC was registered as an official association in June 28, 2013. In 2016 FinTAC was accepted as an Affiliate Society of International Confederation for Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ICTAC) (http://www.ictac.org/).
The division/association has been chaired by
Docent Ilkka Pitkänen, 2001-2004
MSc Maija Hihkiö, 2005-2006

FinTAC organizes frequently national seminars with different topics on thermal analysis. Typically the seminars are open for everyone. The association also arranges visits to national companies for its members. In 2014, FinTAC organized the European Symposium on Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry (ESTAC-11) in Espoo, Finland.
